Welcome to Carousel Ranch Bed and Breakfast
"
Carousel Ranch is a home away from home"
Janet and Bill Johnson, opened their Carousel Ranch B & B in 2008 and are the delighted owners of  3.7 acres of paradise.  The bed and breakfast business fits their lifestyle and personalities to a "t".

Bill is a professional musician, singer and holds live concerts on the 3rd Sunday of every month.  The concert room seats approximately 50 - 60 persons.  Tickets are by telephone reservation only and payment accepted at the door.  Gordie Tapp, Terry Sumsion, Larry Mercey, local singer, Trina Collette and the The Small Town Girlz (All Girls Bluegrass band) are just a few of the artists who have performed live and on stage at the ranch.  Bill has enjoyed 52 years in the country music industry; has performed across Canada, in Texas and Arizona.  Friends/fellow country music artists are waiting in line to perform at their ranch.  The concert takes place between 2 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Jan serves an extensive, homemade and scrumptious buffet after each concert and Bed and Breakfast guests are welcome to attend free of charge.

Jan
loves theatre, art, horses, cooking and gardening the numerous flowerbeds and developing their property to become a showplace.
The gardens will be "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC" in the near future and telephone reservations will be required to tour the gardens and order tea and tarts made by Jan.  A small fee will apply.

Our 3,200 sq. ft. home is a two-storey, raised bungalow, open concept and decorated and furnished with taste.  Jan's artistic flair is evident throughout their home with watercolours painting and wall murals.  The fabulous, fantastic views of the property can be viewed from inside the home or by walking the property to appreciate the numerous perennial flowerbeds, ablaze in their seasonal glory. The fresh, country air wafts through the homes' large panoramic windows.
The Saugeen River "sounds" lull guests to sleep at night.  The chickens and the roosters are not let out until 9:00 a.m. otherwise, "Rocky" "Jake" or "Pepper" would be crowing at the first sign of sunrise.  We have two tortoise shell cats, "Emily" and "Emma" who spend the majority of their time outdoors hunting and are very friendly.

The "Carousel Room", the "Trillium Room" and the "Quaint Room" have all the amenities a guest would need such as shampoo,rinse, hair dryer, soaps, toothbrush, etc. etc.   Every bedroom has a supply of quality linens, fresh flowers (in season) refreshments and a few extra special surprises. Relax on any of the three large, furnished patios and utilize the bbq.  Sit around an evening campfire, bring your canoe, raft or kayak to take advantage of the Saugeen River.  Stroll the flower-lined paths/trails and delight in the variety of birds and butterflies that visit our very secluded valley.
Mount Forest is exactly 1 km. from the driveway entrance where you can shop, dine and take in the local hospitality.  Be prepared to share the roads with Mennonite horses and buggies, as they use highways too.  We should respect their dislike of having their pictures taken and ask permission when thinking about doing so.  The local people have lots to offer in the way of maple syrup, organic eggs, organic meats, fresh flowers, organic vegetables, quality quilts and crafts which they sell at the end of their driveways or at the local farmers’ markets throughout the seasons.
Jan maintains a veggie garden and free ranging chickens. Jan collects the fresh eggs daily to use for the guests breakfasts.
Reserve/ book the use of the property for an outdoor wedding.  The beautiful landscapes and flowerbeds provide a photographer's dream background for any formal shot.

The "Carousel Room" is $125.00 per night - The "Trillium Room" is $100.00 per night;
 The "Quaint Room" $90.00 per night ($55.00 single).  Breakfast is included, of course!
*Ask about our discount for long-term visits. Bring your camera, canvas or canoe. Bring your snowshoes, skates or snowmobile (two minutes from main trail) (lot of parking for snowmobile/horse/car trailers).   Dry camping sites are available too.

Their home is spacious and very relaxing. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens and the grounds have many mature trees. Room was very comfortable and the breakfasts great. Jan and Bill are very knowledgeable about the local stores and community events that travellers might be interested in exploring. We will certainly be recommending this B & B to any of our acquaintances that may travel thru their area. July 2011 Isabel & Donald Brodie, from Camlachie, Ontario July 11, 2011 We stayed at Janet and Bill's lovely ranch with our two small children, 3 1/2 and 22 months, and had a fantastic time. We all loved the chickens and roosters who roam free around the the property, a delight to experience. The grounds, complete with rivers, lawns, gardens, treed areas, and a little 'cabin in the woods' would have kept the children (and us!) entranced forever, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the time we had. Janet and Bill were welcoming and made us feel right at home, the food and conversations were great, and we all look forward to seeing them again soon! Karen and Nick, from Pickering, Ontario September 28, 2010 Jan and Bill welcome you into their beautiful home and make you feel like family. This is a great retreat and the Sunday music show is a gift. The food is fabulous and the mood is peaceful. Thanks for your warm hospitality. Linda Blake, from St. Catharines ON October 31, 2009 Being the youngest couple Bill and Jan have hosted so far (we're both in our twenties) it was quite an amazing retreat for the two of us from our busy and hectic summers. Both Bill and Jan were lovely hosts that immediately made us feel right at home and comfortable with sharing their beautiful space. The grounds were lovely and relaxing - a breath of fresh air, and Jan's breakfast choices were plentiful and delicious! Dara and Scott, from Guelph, Ontario August 19, 2009 We had a very enjoyable stay with Bill and Jan. Very comfortable room, great breakfast and some enjoyable music and conversation. Beautiful location. Karen and Terry, from London, Ontario April 4, 2009 I took my young son out to the Caroused Ranch for some mommy/son bonding time. It had just snowed and the ranch looked spectacular as we drove in. The property sits in a little valley surrounded by towering cedars so it was like being in a snow globe..a perfect setting. We did some sledding, had a pizza lunch al fresco by the river under a gorgeous cedar grove and made snow sculptures. We had a delicious dinner then Bill and Jan took us out "owling" under the stars. Unforgetable. I'd like to keep this little find a secret but I can't stop talking about it. C. Poirier, from Toronto November 28, 2008 Enjoyable time spend in a beautiful, serene setting with warm and friendly host Jan and Bill. Thank you for the fun evening of entertainment and the delicious breakfast. Shelley & Alan, from Baltimore, Ontario November 18, 2008 Bill and Janet's home sits in a picturesque and private setting with the Saugeen River flowing by. Their love of gardening, horses and music is reflected throughout. The food was wonderful, and we felt very welcome. A beautiful spot in any season. B. Cowan, November 13, 2008
